Squashes and Pumpkins and Gourds, Oh my!

So October is almost here (3 hours), and since it is my favorite month I am super excited. I plan on cramming all my favorite fall activities into one month. Here's a list of what I plan to do:
1. go to King Richard's Faire
2. go apple picking
3. make apple crisp
4. carve a pumpkin
5. go to a Halloween party (invitations anyone?)

Also, I'd like to add that I have completed one week of no dairy and no meat! My doctor told me to lose weight (uhg) and I have a family history of high cholesterol so I knew I had to do something. Dieting never works and I just can't force myself to exercise regularly enough, so I decided to go back to being a full-on vegetarian and also give up dairy. I can't say I'm going vegan because I'm still eating eggs... but almost vegan. I think meat and dairy have too much fat and cholesterol and it's really easy to get the nutrients they offer in other foods or supplements (like vitamins B and D, calcium, protein, and iron). So, we'll see how this goes. So far I don't feel much different except maybe less bloated.

I have some butternut squashes in the fridge that I've been itching to cook. Not sure if a should bake them with brown sugar or make a soup. Either way they'll be yummy! My friend Emily gave me a good recommendation today for a vegan blog. It's Oh She Glows. Check it out!

Couch Pillows?

As I was telling my co-worker today about my new advice blog she said "Oh, that reminds me, I need your advice!" and produced a piece of fabric from her bag. She wanted to make pillows for her couch and wanted to know what other colors/designs to mach with the fabric she picked. I gave her my advice and she was thrilled.

Moral of the story: ask me about anything. Fashion, food, relationships, sex, friendship, love. family, life, decorating... you get the point. I may not be an expert but I will give you my humble, honest, and well thought out advice.

Update

Ok, so I guess it's not possible to have comments viewed by only me. So I have set up a gmail account where you can email me your questions. I will not post any names on this blog so I think this is the best way I have at the moment to respect people's privacy. Eventually I will figure out how to make it so people can submit their questions to me anonymously but for now we'll have to operate on the honor code.

The email address is: letsbehonestadvice@gmail.com

How This Works

Hi Friends and Strangers!
This is an advice blog where you can ask me anything and I will give you honest and candid advice. I want this to be a safe and open place for people to talk about what really matters to them. I have made comments private and allowed anonymous posts. So feel free to ask me your questions in the comments box and I will always respect your privacy.

Again, I want to stress that this is a place to talk in an open, non-judgmental, and safe environment.

So, go ahead, let's be honest!
